Thank you for the information on your family. I have one little part of it that puzzles me and that is who married Anna Van Cleve. The Andrews,Clapp, Stokes, Wright,Van Cleve Genealogies by Alfred Stokes Andrews states that Anna (born 30 Jul 1775) married Jerome Holt (born 21 Feb 1763), and that Rufus H. (born 9 Nov 1811) was their son. Rufus (by that account and other family members) married Cynthia Shoard and their child was Serepta (as well as Richard and Matilda). If you have information that documents Rufus being the husband of Anna Van Cleve could you let me know where this comes from.

My relationship to Catherine is as follows:

Peter Benham (ca 1724-) and Amey James (ca 1722-1758)
(mother and father of Catherine Benham VanCleve)

had a son:

Richard James Benham (1755-1819)who married Lydia Bevan or Benham (1763-)

and had a son:

John Benham (ca 1785-1870) who married Abigail Nutt (1790-1868)

and had a son:

Samuel Benham (1817-1905) who married Mary Ann Jones (1823-1888)

and had a daughter:

Anna Benham(1853-1922) who married Aaron Sears (1847-1923)

and had a daughter:

Minnie Mae (1872-1967) who married Frank Eugene Hartsock (1867-1927)

and had a son:

James Sears Hartsock, Sr. (1901-1988) who married Barbara Eve Filer (1904-1986)

and had a son

John Michael Hartsock (1943-)

Please keep in touch.
