hi terry yes ihave heard the theory of jan vancleaves real name being jan waldyke but only that 1 source.i have heard many other theories concerning jans background with many indepent sources which include he decended from the flemish painters and or , the dukes of cleves these are the angles ive researched the most and the evidence seems 2 support the most my grandmas grandma was cynthia van cleave hutchinson born 1849 she spoke of royality and the mayflower but my grandma being 94 now she cant remember the extact stories her cousin put together a line of royality 2 robert the strong killed in battle 866 ad he did this in the 1930s ive spent hundreds of hours online verifying what he found and other than a few wifes names and a few dates i beleive ive prooven it correct how he put it together in 30s ill never know this blood line ties in with many conspirity theoiries of the middle ages and beyond including the knights templar priory of sion the holy grail king arther and many more i own 16 books on these an related subjects these are the angles i choose 2 research ihave my line 2 jan as rembered by greatx4grandma with all kinds of peronal stories most of which are posted here and written from different points of view so ialso believe i have prooven that correct thers no doubt in my line 2 jan so you see how imporant it is 2 me verifiy prove once and 4 all jan comes from the dukes of cleves/and or the flemish painters if you have any info on this please post i am also interested in strange family stories have come across many regarding van cleaves including my greatx4gradmas sister lizzie born 1851 died 8 yrs old the one who said she would never finish that term of school but gave no reason just before the term ended she took brain fever and died in a few days please post back dan
