please post your names i have a john william duke of julich cleves and berge last duke of cleves died childless march 1609 he was the son of william v duke of julich, cleves , berg and belders and so on. check my post at the van cleve forum at this site. then i have a jan van cleve [ many different spellings 4 van cleve]born 1628 in holland son of 1 of the contenders 4 the ducal throne of cleves when it was left vacant 1609 with the death of john william without heirs duchy was awarded 2 john sigismund elctor of brandenburge in1614 jan came over in 1653 settled in long island and much much more info on jan and his decendents 2 me how ever i dont have jans fathers name [many theories but nothing i believe 2 be solid] or the exact way jan and dad connect 2 the dukes of cleves so your names may fill my gap charles durward??? durward name comes from scottish royality??? please post your info.
