He is my great-great-great grandfather. My great grandmother Vertalee VanCleave always told me stories about the VanCleave family and how Vancleave, MS was named. I actually went to school in Vancleave, MS and I was always proud to know it was named after my family. My great grandmother and my mother would always research the family when I was younger.
