In my family line have William Vancleave who built first ultralight plane and first to fly over Dallas in 1920's. Had a manufacturing business at Love Field in Dallas and built airplane motors for the Wright Brothers. Trying to connect William Vancleave through his father George W. Vancleave who was born in PA 1780-1790 and supposed to be son of John Vancleave and Cathering Benham. John VC was killed in Dayton, Ohio while clearing his land by Indians.
George W. Vancleave is first found in Marshall Co., AL in the 1840 census as being between 40 and 50 years of age and the rest is a brick wall. His grgrandaughter, Susie Vancleave was interviewed by a newspaper editor about the Vancleave's in the 1860's for the Dayton, Ohio newspaper. If anyone could offer any information it would be greatly appreciated. I do have the newspaper clipping on William Vancleave and his information.
