I'm descended through the Johann/Johnathan/Tobias/John/Josiah P/Alonzo/Louis Vancil line.
The only thing I know about them is a few pages of someone's research at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cspowell/docs/vancil/vancilbook.html. Perhaps this is the same thing you have? Or maybe your book is more detailed.
I would appreciate any information you book has on Johann/Johnathan/Tobias/John/Josiah P/Alonzo/Louis Vancil. I'm especially interested in Louis and Alonzo since they are more recent ancestors and Louis' life is quite a mystery. There are lots of stories about Louis or his wife, Birdie Dale (Bertha) Williams being full blooded Indian. I haven't not been able to find any confirmation of this, but their daughter referred to herself and her daughters as Squaw's. Their children and grandchildren also had trouble getting anyone to rent to them or even being able to enter taverns because they were Indian. I've been trying to find an Indian link with Birdie or Louis, but haven't found one yet.
