Charles Homer Vance was born Feb.15, 1920 in Ravenswood, W.V. He was in WWII and was married to Valida Irene (nee Cottrell) Vance. Her parents were John Lee Cottrell and Flora Nettie (nee Miller)Cottrell. Charles and Irene have the followering children together. 1. Charles Daniel born Sept.25,1946,( is my father),2.Nettie Lou born in 1949, 3. Kenneth Russell born Feb.3,1951, 4.David Lewis born in 1955 and 6.Jimmy Dale born June 19,1956. Charles and Irene both died in Wellington, Lorain Co., Ohio and are buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington, Ohio. I traced the Cottrell's back to 1600's but can't find anything on the Vance's. There are plenty Vance males out there and I don't know if they are willing to do the DNA. I still need help with my great grandfather's side and my great grandmother side which is the Skaggs. I do know that I am a distance cousin of Ricky Skaggs the singer but don't know much more than that. I can use all the help I can get. Thank you for all your time.
