I am Joseph VanBuskirk's greatgrandson through his daughter Hattie, then her son (my Dad) Burton Wilbur Rose. Do you know about his journal which was completed in 1921 as a Christmas present to each of his children? It was entitled: Moving With The Frontier-The VanBuskirk Story by Joseph VanBuskirk.
Doris Bingham, one of his greatgranddaughters, had it published on a limited basis in 1985 by the Dunlap Reporter in Dunlap, Iowa. I do not know if she is still alive or if original copies are still available. My sister recently sent me a photocopy and I have really enjoyed it. I would be glad to help any way I could and I would like to know what you know about the family.
