I find this very interesting. I don't know yet where my family originated from but it seems to be either Holland or Germany. However, years ago my father did tell me that this family was a part of the Huegenot movement and that they went from France to Germany and then to Holland and finally America with the name being changed with each migration. I don't know if I will ever find the orginal name/spelling. It looks like they were in America as early as 1757.
