Marguerite Valliere 1918-2009
MOULTONBOROUGH -- Marguerite Louise (Faye) Valliere, 90, died Feb. 26, 2009, at her home on Sheridan Road.

She was born Aug. 12, 1918, in Castine, Maine, to George and Bertha (Webster) Faye. She graduated from Castine High School in 1936 and Castine Normal School in 1938.

In 1952, she married A. Ernest "Coona" Valliere of Meredith and they moved to Moultonborough in 1957. In 1964, she began two decades with Yield House Gift Shop on Meredith Bay, spending more than half her years there as assistant manager and manager of the store.

She was active in the Moultonborough Women's Club and served on the parish council and as lay Eucharistic minister and reader at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith.

After spending many years with her son, John, and his family in Virginia, she returned to Moultonborough in the summer of 2007.

Family membes include two sons, George Valliere of Bucksport, Maine, and John Valliere of Montclair, Va.; a sister, Mary Keyser of Meredith; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home (Rtes. 3 and 104) in Meredith. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis J. Audet, pastor, will be officiating. Interment will follow at Meredith Village Cemetery, Meredith.
