Again there seems to be a link between my Mary Jane Valliant who was supposed to have been born in TN, but somehow has a link to Oxford, MS...she was supposedly of some Indian blood...maybe chickasaw?...she was born circa 1827, married Andrew Washington Barr around 1846, their first known child was born in MS in 1847, and their second child was born in AR in 1849...by 1850 census they were living in Ouachita County in AR, and she died sometime between 1872 and 1878...her husband outlived her by many years, remarried, and is buried in Mt Moriah cemetery in Nevada County, AR...I am desperately trying to find out more about her...can you help me? It seems that this link of a Valliant family travelling from MD to KY and then TN, then to Oxford, MS may be the link i have been looking for...she definitely had some kind of link to Oxford, MS...but I am not exactly sure what that link is...but one of her grand children apparently thought she was born there, even though the census data for 1850 clearly states she was born in TN...I am dead-ended here...and really need some help on this.
