Edward, I have only five known children for Denton H. Valliant. Those extra two people in the 1840 census could be hands or nephews/nieces or even a brother or sister-in-law. I have that he was in Lawrence Co. AL in 1830 and 40.....am I wrong? Here's what I find strange, unless I made a transcription error....in 1830, the oldest male in the family in 70-80 years old. Who could that be? Could that be the Henry who died in Lauderdale Co? If Denton Hurlock Valliant got married in 1826 at age 27, how could the D.H. Valliant in Lawrence Co. AL in 1830 6 children already? None of the ones I have as his children were born before 1830. Did I find another Valliant with the right initials? This gives me something new to figure out! Connee
