Matilda Valliant was born 3 March 1811 in Madison Co. AL, daughter of Robert Spencer Valliant and Martha Hurlock, from Maryland. I have that Matilda m. John Harwood 27 Sept. 1826 in Madison Co. Matilda's sister Vashti Valliant's son Calvin Hurlock Brooks wrote in his bible, "James Jasper Harwood was bornd July 10 (could be 13)----1828." Is this the same as your James John?
