Most of my research is with French Canadian families. I would guess that the surname of Mary [Valleu] is probably one of the following...

1) Valliere

2) Valois

3) Lavallée

I actually have ancestors who are Valliere and Lavallée. If you have more details on Mary, perhaps I could help in some way.
