Godfrey Vally, 19th Century, Ont. Canada

Goodness. I thought this Vally forum was completely deserted. Silly me.

I am looking for Godfrey Valley, b. 1813 in Holland???? d. date unk., Caledonia, Ontario, Canada, m. Olive Cass (or "Sarah"?). Wife b. date unknown in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada, d. date unknown in Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. Wife's mom was Susannah Sherman.

Children, Joseph Valley, b. 1838, Ontario, Canada, wound up in Carland, Michigan. Joseph's siblings were William, Caroline, Elizabeth, Louisa, Sarah, Maria, Almira(?), Peter, and Alexander.

An associated place name is Vankleek Hill, Ontario, Canada, in addition ot Hawkesbury and Caledonia (same province).

The family is said to have done farming. My ancestor, Joseph Valley, son of Godfrey, is said to have lost his own farm in Canada and to have become a sort of migrant farm worker back and forth across the Canada/U.S. border. Joseph Valley married first Ann Kinsmill (or Kensman or Kindsman), then second Emma Turner. Emma Turner was a Michigan resident, and Joseph Valley is said to have been very down on his luck at the time of the marriage (the Turner family disowned Emma for marrying so badly).

OK. Well, here goes, on the assumption that that Valley forum might not actually be quite as deserted as it has seemed (Sigh!).
