Mrs Mary L Cooney, 84, of 756 E Pleasant St, died at 910 pm Sunday in Mercy Hospital following a lenghthy illness.
Mrs Cooney was born 3 August 1874 in Defiance ,Ohio, the daughter of Patrick and Cecelia Jennings Quinn.. A resident of Springfield most of her life, she was a member of the St Joseph Church and the Alter and Rosary Society of that church.
Survivors include two sons, Charles of Springfield and Walter stationed with the Army in Germany; five daughters: Mrs Alfred Valley of Reading, Ohio, Mrs Frank Burns of Hamilton, OHio, Mrs Edward Fleming of London,Ohio, Mrs William Leuvelink, Jr, of Cincinnati, and Mrs Florence Mertens of Springfield; 34 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a sister, MrsMinnie Tuttle of Springfield.
Her body was taken to O'Brien and Kenney funeral home where friends may call from noon Tuesday untik the time of the service at 10 am on Wednesday in St Joseph's Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
