Hello again,
Forgive me if you're already aware of this but,
1. In the 1881 Canada census there are Lavallees in Manitoba, in addition to the Vallees.
2. You might want to try contacting someone at Manitoba GENWEB - or repost this message in different forums putting Manitoba Vallees in the subject line.
3. You should give your sources for your information, especially the St. Boniface death in case this provides a clue to others as to where to look for you.
