Hello,

my name is Mario V. Valenta. I am 30 years old, and I live in Upstate NY, USA. I am starting out trying to piece together my family's history (difficult at best, considering it's full of mystery and holes) and I have little knowledge thus far, but I wanted to share with you what i know in case it helps some of you on your quest.

My father is Mario Valenta, approximately 60 years of age and he was born near the town of Motovun, Istria:

He currently resides also in Upstate NY. His mother was Cecilia Valberga Pastorcik who brought my father and his sister, maria, to the US when my father was maybe 13-14 years old. Cecilia passed away before i was born,
sometime in the early 1970's.

My father had a number of siblings that remained in Europe but unfortunately at this time i don't know much at all about them. I recall one was named Renatto (Rennato?)

I have an uncle Tony Valenta who lived in Binghamton NY. He died a couple years ago, maybe late 1990's. He has a son Tony Jr who currently resides in Binghamton NY.

My email address is mvalenta [at] gmail [dot] com

Good luck with all of your searching!
