Sometime after this he was orphaned and was found in Webster Co. KY with a man named James Martin in 1880. To our knowledge they were not related. John apparently had polio and was crippled so it seems strange that when he had sons he would take in an orphan. Both his wedding certifate and death certificate say parents Unknown. He had a older brother named Henry.
