Hi Shane. This may be a red herring, but you never know. My grandfather was the youngest of 4 boys and was born in 1882. His name was Ronald Sinclair Vale. He emigrated to Canada from England in about 1900 with one older brother (unfortunately I don't know the brother's name). They worked their way west, mainly on farms, and ended up in Vancouver. My grandfather returned to England before the 1st World War, but his brother stayed and married. He died in the Spanish Flu epidemic after WW1. He had children, one of whom was called Ruth, whom I met when I was a child in the 1960s. Unfortunately I don't know much more than that, but I can still remember my grandfather telling stories about Canada as he remembered it before WW1. He died in 1968.

Hope this helps

Richard
