James Vale/Fales 1600s

I am researching the Fales of Massachusetts. I have recently found that the name was written in the Massachusett Dedham Colony records as James Vale and that ten years later his sons name was entered into the records also as Vale. It may be that the name was originally Vale. Many have been trying to find where James came from and who his parents were. It is believed that he came from England. His mothers name may have been Margaret and she many have been from Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Any information will be appreciated.
