Joseph Valdez Obit
ADRIAN — Joseph Valdez, age 86, of Adrian died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at his home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Lincoln, Neb., to Mike and Anna (Redstock) Valdez. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1943. Joe was the president and owner of Valdez Enterprise in Toledo. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Joe is survived by three sons, Steve Valdez of Adrian, Rudy Valdez of Adrian and Joseph Rojas-Valdez of Fenton, Mich.; four daughters, Beatrice Blumerick and her husband, Michael, of Traverse City, Mich., Linda Mendez and her husband, Lazaro, of Luna Pier, Mich., Yolanda Valdez of Adrian and Julie Mendina-Valdez of Fenton; one brother, James Valdez and his wife, Valentina, of Adrian; two sisters, Pauline Jaimes and Marie Hernandez, both of Adrian; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Feliz Valdez and Frank Valdez; two daughters, Lillie Valdez and Eleanor Valdez; and one brother, Victor Lara.
At Joe’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation. The Memorial Liturgy will be offered on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Bob Schramm presiding. Military services will be conducted by the V.F.W. Annis-Fint Post #1584, immediately following the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. You may send condolences to the family at www.andersonfuneralhomeadriantecumseh.com.
