Valdez / Hernandez / Reyes / Arizona / New Mexico / early 1900's
My father-in-law's ancestors are from Morelia, Michoacon, Mexico. Jose Valdez and Jose Hernandez immigrated to the US in the early 1900's via Texas. Both eventually settled in Clifton, Greenlee County, Arizona. One was a Baker, the other a railroad hand.
Jose Hernandez married a Josefa Reyes. Josefa's mother's maiden name is believed to be Candelaria and Josefa's mother is believed to have been 100% indian from a reservation in New Mexico.
Jose Valdez's son Alfredo married Jose Hernandez's daughter Concepcion in the 1940's. Alfredo Valdez died in the 80's. Concepcion is still living.
I am looking for information on relatives and/or ancestors of Jose Hernandez and Jose Valdez from Morelia, Mexico. I am also interested in relatives and/or ancestors of the Candelaria line from New Mexico.
I would appreciate any pointers to online resources where I can do further research or where I might find birth records from that area of Mexico from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Also, I would like to know where I can further research indian records from the reservations for the same time frame.
