You were wondering if the different spellings has any significance, i.e., Veal, Vail, Vaill, etc. I too have wondered. I am the GG Grandson of James Carr Veale I, a Revolutionary soldier from Union Co. SC. I have posted the results on my 41 point Y Chromosome test on Ancestory.com. I would be interested in seeing how it compares to someone with an alternate spelling of Veale.
