William AVERY and Ann E. RUFFIN of York County and Warwick County VA

I am working another of my dead ends.

My great grandfather was John Joseph Avery (1851-1923). At the time of the 1870 US Census he was living with his father William AVERY (born abt. 1806). They were living in the Stanley Township of Warwick County, VA. The other children in the household were Henrietta (abt. 1854)and William (abt. 1856). Their mother, Ann E. RUFFIN (abt. 1821) may have died before the 1870 census. At the 1860 census the entire family, including another son Richard R. (abt. 1846) were living in York County, VA.

From 1839-1843 there are various Personal Estate Tax records and a debt record for William Avery in York County.

Anyone else working on this AVERY/RUFFIN line? Anyone else with hints before 1830's?

Thanks.

Tom.
