Hi Robert,

I don't have anything on the WRIGHT family, but wonder if you have any other records for the WRIGHT family that mention either the MORRIS or STROUD families. My John MORRIS and wife Mary of Charles Parish, York Co. VA had sons John MORRIS and wife Mary (children by 1728) and Nicholas MORRIS and wife Mary (children by 1734).

If Mary (WRIGHT) MORRIS is identical to one of the above Mary's, the wife of Nicholas would seem the most likely agewise. If she was about 16, she could have been born about 1718. If Mary (WRIGHT) was about the oldest child of William WRIGHT, and William (born 1740 was the youngest) then and allowing for 2 years between births she could be about the right age.

There were other MORRIS families (not known to be related) in York County, so she could be from that line.

John (the younger) and Mary's eldest child was Sarah, born 1728, who married John STROUD. I don't know if he was from York County, or from Isle of Wight County where the MORRIS family moved about the time she was married.
