Thanks for your reply. Sorry for not checking my posting. I have the box checked to notify me of a reply, but it did not notify me of your reply.

Could you look in your copies of the ABSTRACTS OF COURT ORDERS OF WYTHE COUNTY, VIRGINIA and see if an Acker, Aker, or Akers was adopted by or indentured by a Hale family either in Wythe County or a surrounding county?
