Debbie, there is an old cemetery in Appalachia in the part of town known as the Old Bottom. Brown Street, which starts at the end of Spruce Street (a street in the New Bottom area) runs across the Old Bottom and terminates right at the cemetery. Although I grew up in Appalachia, I was never in the cemetery, but remember having seen it. I went by there a few weeks ago when I was in Appalachia for a high school reunion. It is in pretty sad shape. I was not aware that there was another cemetery above it, but I'm sure there could be. It is on the side of a hill and there's a lot of hill above where the old cemetery is located.
