Does anyone know anything about the woman MRS. ROSA CATRON who was murdered by strychnine poisoning at gunpoint by JOHN WINTON THOMPSON, former sheriff of Wise County, on Thursday, November 28, 1928 at Big Stone Gap. John Winton Thompson committed suicide on the same date by the same method in the home of MRS. ROSA CATRON. The Big Stone Gap newspaper stated she had three sons, lived near the hosiery mill, and had quarreled with Sheriff Thompson about something.
Any information -- anything at all -- would be greatly appreciated in unraveling this tragedy & mystery.
