Have you considered having the lady at the web site below check the microfilms at the Library of Virginia for you?

I have used her service a number of times and she does excellent work. If the death happened in 1940 or later, she cannot get a copy of the death certificate from the Library of Virginia, but can see if it is on the index rolls and then give you the certificate number and you can request it from the State of Virgina.
