Would like to find portraits or photos of and info on the members of my SW Virginia, lines - the Tylers, Barrons, Grahams, Penningtons, Russells and related families.
Am specifically hoping to find a photo of my great grandfather Gale Barron Tyler and/or his wife, Martha E. "Mattie" Graham. Born in the late 1800s in Wise County, Gale may have lived with his grandfather, who was William Nathaniel Gale Barron, for part of his study years and taught school there for a time; he died when he was 33.
Mattie, who was the daughter of America Pennington and her husband, Dr. John Patton Graham of Lee County (and thus a great granddaughter of William Graham and Edward "Neddie" Pennington) remarried a Joseph Hamilton. She lived until she was 86, in the late 1940s, raising her only grandson, James Patton Tyler, Jr., in nearby Claiborne County, TN.
Would also appreciate any contact with direct cousins reading this posting.
