Robert:

I'm researching the GRACE family in Westmoreland. The following was found and might be of use to you. Do you the origins of the Champ(e) family (i.e. Irish or English)?

Ken

Westmoreland County, VA (Order Book) Part 8 (1717-1721)
Page 404a (31 May 1721)
In the action of debt brought by William Harriss against John Champ for 500 pounds of tobacco assigned to the plaintiff by Jno. GRACE, the defendant produced a record from Northumberland County shewing that the tobaco was attached in his hands as Grace's estate and made oath that the attachment was on account of the bill declared for by the plaintiff, whereupon the suite is dismist.
