Seeking info. on my Afro. American ggrandfather, James Armstead/Aimstead Nelson b. abt. 1874 m. Elizabeth Gray/Grey b. abt. 1872 of Westmoreland Co. Va. It's possible that James had a brother John H. Nelson b. abt. 1880 m. Gertrude McKenney, found on 1930 Census, Westmoreland Co. Va. living next door to each other. James & Elizabeth had 6 children and John & Gertrude had 8 children. Never proven the parents of James and John, but found a 1880 Census Montross, Westmoreland Co. Va. for Emanuel & Judy Nelson lising 8 children, 2 of which are a James A. & John Nelson with the same birth years as my notes. Also, their was a Fannie Nelson(mid-wife) my grandfather claimed as his cousin not sure who her parents were. If any of these folks ring a bell please post a reply or email me. ( Willing to share!
