My interest may stray somewhat from the subject, as I am searching for information about a bonded servant (convict) who was one of many landed at Leedstown. His name was Alexander John McArter and someone in the town or nearby area must have accepted him as a servant for the 7 years of his sentence. Does any churchyard hold his remains? Is there any record in a church of his attendance, marriage, death, or burial? The date was October 1756. The ship was the Barnard. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can trace the footsteps of this poor fellow? Thank you for reading this far. Aye, Bob McArtor (Alexandria)
