I don't have any information specifically about your Frances or John Sanford, but the Sanford family has been here in Westmoreland County since 1600s - also have some Carrolls in Westmoreland County back to the 1600s, but no Dempsey. If I happen to come across anything though as I go through my research, I'll let you know. I would bet that they (or their parents) were born in Westmoreland County and then traveled west to Louisa.
