Bob,

I just recently completed entering into the computer church membership information for the Westmoreland Methodist Circuit, which includes information for Methodist churches in the eastern end of Westmoreland County as well some churches in surrounding counties. The records go back to 1876. Most of the Sanford/Sandfords were affiliated with the Carmel Methodist Church, located near Kinsale. I see that an Eliza Sanford died March 1905. Is this your Eliza? I also see Robert J. Sanford who was a Class Leader 1876-1880; Trustee, 1877-1880 and 1884; and Local Preacher 1879-1881 and 1884 (he may also have served in these capacities between 1881 and 1884 but no records included for these time periods). The records said that he "died in great peace Dec 2 1889". There, of course, are many other Sanfords listed for this area, and as Sue said they are still abundant in this area.
