McKenney is also sometimes McKinney or McKenny in old records. In fact, often the spelling was interchanged even for the same person, depending on the spelling used by the record keeper. Those that stayed here in Westmoreland County continue to spell it McKenney, but I have connected up with some possible relatives from other areas who changed the spelling to McKinney. Do you know whether your Elizabeth was supposed to be connected to Westmoreland County, Virginia, and if so, what is the connection?
