Pg 96, the Davises, four brother- Nathaniel, John, James and Samuel Davis; and it must be remembered that they were all Presbyterians. In the county previous to 1772. Note: all found in land records. Note: actually there were five brothers, all sons of Nathaniel Davis b 1704 Augusta Co., VA s/o Robert Davis & Obadiah Lewis of Augusta Co., VA. Nathaniel married Sarah Elizabeth Hughes b 1708 Augusta Co., VA; she the d/o Elias Hughes and Jane Sleeth. Sons of Nathaniel Davis & Sarah nee Hughes: 1. John Davis b 1744 Augusta Co., VA m 1770 Washington Co., VA Isobell Leeper b 1755 Augusta Co., VA d/o James Leeper Sr. & Margaret Elizabeth nee Smallwood 2. Nathaniel Davis b July 4, 1750 Augusta Co., VA d Apr 27, 1776 Washington Co., VA, married Apr 27, 1776 Augusta Co., VA, Sally Hannah b 1752, d Apr 27, 1776, Washington Co., VA How sad is that? 3. James Davis b 1753 Augusta Co., VA d Sept 26, 1836 Abington, Washington Co., VA, m 1780 Augusta Co., Rebecca Whitley b abt 1762 Augusta Co., VA d/o Jonathan Whitley & Rebecca nee Bowen. 4. Robert Davis b 1753 Augusta Co., VA d 1827 Washington Co., VA m Nancy McMillan d/0 William McMillan & Mary nee Leeper. 5. Samuel Davis b 1754 Augusta Co., VA d 1814 m Apr 27, 1776 Geizzell Ross b 1757 Augusta Co., VA. Yes, Nathaniel and Samuel were married on the same day but it was Nathaniel and new bride Sally who died on that day. I have more information on these families if anyone is interested.
