Shirley, Thanks so much for your reply. I am in the process of joining DAR based on Jeffrey Collins service. I am told that he is a new line for DAR!
John W. Wayland's book " A History of Shenandoah Cty, VA" records on pgs254-255 William Collins, Corp. and James Collins, Private serving in War of 1812. I am waiting to get military papers on James W. Collins, my line. About 95% sure it's him also based on Warren Minute Book page record of land bounty for service in War of 1812...But would like to find out descendants of Jeffrey's son, William who died early age in 1840's leaving some sons as stated in Jeffrey's Estate probate. I am also trying to find the Russell connection based on Robert Russell and Jeffrey Collins depositions. I'll keep in touch and let you know if I find anything.

Sherry
