Jeffery Collins or Collings was a Revolutionary War soldier and applied for a pension in 1837. In his application he stated that his date of birth was 1756 and was recorded in 'old man Russell's' bible. That would have been John Russell, b.@ 1725 in Ireland who m'd Isabel.

Robert Russell, who applied at the same time, stated that the bible was with his brother in Ohio at that time. He and Jeffry Collins served together in the Rev. War.

I don't know about the War of 1812. David Russell (who had the bible) served in the War of 1812; but I've never checked for Robert Russell or Jeffry Collins in that war.
