I am looking for information on what became of Mary Martin who married William JOLLETT in Warren County, VA 1865. This is a complicated story, but here is what I know: In 1870, William JOLLETT was in prison in Richmond (Richmond Census). It appears that Mary was living in her father Absalom's home during the 1870 census. William was released from prison in 1874. That same year he and Mary had a daughter named Emma (Warren County Birth Records). Based on some letters that have been passed on to me by descendents, I believe that William Jollett left town in 1874, changed his name and married again. Did Mary and William divorce? In the Warren County 1880 census, there is a Mary working as a housekeeper in someone else's home, but there is no Emma. Does anyone know this Mary, this Emma, and what became of them? You can contact me directly at Thanks for any help.
