I am searching for decendants of:
Lem Lewis b.Mar. 1854 N.C.and could have been born in Va.
He married twice.
1st wife was prudie ? Lewis. not sure when or where she was born but she died sometime between 1890-1896.
Lem and Prudie had two children:
William Lewis b. May 1887 Wythe co. Va.
John Lewis b. Feb. 1890 Wythe co. Va.
2nd wife was Lucey ? Lewis b. Sept. 1881 Virginia.
Lucey and Lem married in 1897.
children include:
Edward Lewis b. May 1898 Clear fork district Tazewell co. VA.
Dau. Mollie Lewis b. 1901-02 Tazewell co. Va.
son: Jim/James Lewis b.1902-03 Tazewell co. VA.
Dau: Iola Lewis b.1906-07 Tazewell co. VA.
Dau: Carrie Lewis b. 1908-09 Tazewell co. VA.
Dau: Ethal Lewis b. 1911-12 Tazewell co.Va.
Son: Buford Lewis b. 1913-14 Tazewell co. Va.
Dau: Alva Lewis b. May/June 1919 Tazewell co.Va.
I am searching the Clear Fork and Bossivain, Tazewell Co. Va. areas.
I am a direct desendant of William the oldest child. William married Mary (Bowen)Asbury in 1922.
Anyone with any information or questions are welcome to contact me. Without more information I am stuck here until the 1940 census comes out. I can't wait that long.
