Hi Rickey,
I found a Wm H Alley buried in the Jeffersonville Cemetery (Jeffersonville was the old name for town of Tazewell today). The inventory lists W. H. Alley December 1, 1840 -- May 13, 1894. This listing is from the book "Tazewell County Cemeteries, Vol. 3 East Central Region" page 69. He is the only Alley listed in that cemetery. Of course there could have been unmarked graves. There is also a Nannie Alley listed in the Browns Chapel Cemetery. Her DOB is 1919 and DOD 1976. These are the only 2 I find.
In the Tazewell County death records, 1872-1896, the only two Alleys found are Masion W. Alley (Male) died July 9 1890, age 1 year, 10 months, 3 days, AND Jesse M Alley (female) died July 30, 1890, age 1 year. Both died of the flux and both were children of Jas. M. & Liddie S. Alley.
I find no death record for W. H. Alley even though that was the proper range of dates to have a death record unless he died outside of Tazewell County.
There was Hezikiah Alley who applied for a pension as a Confederate veteran from the State of Virginia in 1905 but his pension application states he was born and resided in Wythe County, VA. He was 65 years old at the time of the application.
There as also a J. M. Alley who served on a Tazewell County jury in 1904 which convicted Henry Woodward, a negro, in a murder case. I assume he was probably the same as Jas. M. Alley, the father of the 2 children who died of flux above.
