I just recently found a grave while volunteering for Find a Grave in Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George, VA (next county over from Sussex) for Rebecca M. Parker. It had dates of 1822 - 1897 on it. I believe this may be the Rebecca you reference above.
Her grave was located near several family members of the Shands family. Research I've done on the Shands was that Rosa Ann (Parker) was married to a Dr. Thomas E. Shands, Jr. Then this lead me to discover Rosa's parents names on a marriage record I found in FamilySearch.org. They were listed as Jas T. Parker and R.C. Parker.
I've found 2 actual marriage records in FamilySearch between Jas T. Parker and R.C. Moore, one dated 30 April 1842 and the other dated 1 December 1842, both in Sussex, VA. Not sure why there are two with different dates.
Check your birth year for James T. Parker, you have listed as abt 1887 which would be impossible if they married in 1842. Everything I've been able to find indicates he was born abt 1819.
Further info I've been able to find on Jas T. Parker/Rebecca C Moore:
Birth Records of Children:
No Name Parker, 10 Jul 1853, Sussex, VA
Robert T. Parker, 08 Jun 1857, Sussex, VA
Jas & Rebecca listed as parents on the marriage records of:
A. Alice Parker/Benj. W. Lee, 04 Apr 1887, Prince Geo, VA
Rosa A Parker/Thos E Shands, 25 Mar 1869, Petersburg, VA
1850 Census, Sussex, VA
James T. Parker M 31 VA (est yr of birth 1819)
Rebecca C F 30 VA
John J M 5 VA
Rosa A F 3 VA
Mary F 2 VA
1850 (Slave Sched), Sussex, Va
James T. Parker (13 slaves owned)
1870 Census, Sussex, VA
James Parker M 51 VA (est yr of birth 1819)
Rebecca C F 51 VA
George M 17 VA
Robert T M 13 VA
Anna Langford(housekeeper) 25 VA
Several Civil War Records for Jas T, James T and James Parker pretty difficult to tell which one is his, but I would assume he was in the war as a Confederate soldier as it appears he was a slave owner.
There is a death record for a James T Parker in FamilySearch, but I don't believe it is the same person as it states he was single and his occupation is "merchant". From the Census records above, James was a farmer and was obviously not single.
