The wife of the David Pennington who left a Will in Sussex in 1781 appears to be one named Ussey.
The Albemarle Parish Register, on the other hand, does not mention a Ussey Pennington.
It does lists to a David and Lydia Pennington several children (Leah, Tabitha, Sarah Gilliam, Hinchen, Ned, Jane Green, Nelson, Tempe and Polly). The children Hinche, Sarah Gilliam, and Tabitha Pennington both point toward a Gilliam connection.
A John and Sarah Gilliam did have a daughter named Lydia who is mentioned in John's Will, 9 Aug 1738. At that time Lydia Gilliam was still single. That same John and Sarah also had children name Hinchea and Tabitha.
