Coroncesaw Pond & Nottoway River

I am trying to determine the location of a land parcel based upon a 1742 land record. It is described as being “…on the south side of Nottoway River, beginning and extending by side of Coroncesaw Pond…” The deed was recorded in Surry County, but the area presumably now lies in Sussex County. I have been unable to find any mention of Coroncesaw Pond on a topo map, in GNIS, or via an internet search. Can anyone help? Thanks
