Kitty, from what we know our family settled in the Charlotte/Prince Edward area in the mid to late 1700s. Prior to then, they were in the King and Queen/King William/Essex area. We have a William in King and Queen who served in the Va. Militia during the Rev. War and afterwards joined other Hines family in Prince Edward/Charlotte Counties. Our early Hines family had names such as; William, Thomas, James, John, Joshua, Henry, Caleb, Richard, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Polley etc. There is a strong possibility that someone from your Hines group is the link we need but have not located. Do you know if anyone out of Southampton/Sussex group moved to the any of the counties mentioned above? We also have a connection to 10 or 12 Elliotts in our Va.tree. Do you have Elliotts that lived or married in central Va.? Thanks for any help.
