LAND PATENT of RICHARD BULLOCK 1732
Posted by: Charles W. Pitman Sr Date: November 25, 2000 at 03:56:38
  of 699

I recently obtained a copy of a land patent for Richard Bullock. According to my transcription efforts, he received 80 acres of land located on Matt's Branch in Southwork Parish of Surry Co VA. This land was adjoining the land of one William Short and was previously held by Thomas Green. Patent was dated 28th day of September 1732 and signed by William Gooch.

I would like to know additional information concerning the location of the watercourse and parish. I hope that I have the names correct. If anyone has any knowledge of this area, I would appreciate a reply.

Richard Bullock by all research efforts appears to be my 6th and 7th great grandfather. He also appears to be the grandson of Hugh Bullock who was of York Co and was appointed in 1631 to the Council.

I would appreciate any data on this Bullock family line. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Regards,
Charles
