Dear Ms. Van Hoose,

I know where Walnut Branch of Potomac Run is located--in more recent years it was called Moonacks Branch and is on the eastern end of Stefaniga's Mill Road. I'm afraid I don't know which of Potomac's many tributaries was called Haw's. There is a Mine Road located on the south side of Garrisonville Road, but if the deed you are using is 18th century, I suspect the reference is to the old iron mines that served Accokeek and then Hunter's Iron Works. I know about where the mines were located and, at first glance, it appears the land you are looking for may be on the south side of Stefaniga's Mill Road and on the west side of Mountain View Road. I can't be completely certain of this, but it's my best guess. If you look at an ADC map of Stafford, you should be able to find the area I'm talking about.

Sincerely,
Jerrilynn Eby
