John Mauzy (c.1675-1718) came to America c.1700. His English-born wife died and he married secondly Mary (Crosby) Mountjoy (died 1756), the widow of Capt. Edward Mountjoy (died 1712) and the daughter of George Crosby. The Mauzys lived on Potomac and Accokeek runs near Brooke in Stafford County and intermarried with the Hedgmans.
